  We've all heard the saying 'To forgive is divine...' but the thing I think we forget most of the time is that we are to imitate that divine action.  ( Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.  Ephesians 5:1 ). What a way we are to imitate God?   I'm glad you asked. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.  Ephesians 4:32 We should keep short accounts.  We should be willing to forgive often because we've been forgiven often.   So what happens when we don't forgive others?
